What is ABA Therapy?
ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) is a well-researched, effective approach, widely considered the gold standard for supporting children with autism. With over 30 years of research behind it, ABA helps children learn new skills and reduce challenging behaviors through positive reinforcement and personalized strategies, empowering them to reach their fullest potential.
What To Expect During ABA Therapy
Your child’s one-on-one ABA therapy sessions will be conducted by a Behavior Technician, who works directly with your child while being closely supervised and guided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Session Structure
A typical session lasts between 2 to 3 hours, tailored to your child’s unique needs. Depending on the intensity of the program, sessions may take place several times a week, with most children receiving between 10 to 30 hours of therapy weekly.
Therapy Activities
During the session, our team will engage your child in structured teaching and play-based activities that focus on goals such as communication, social interactions, following directions, and daily living skills. These activities are individualized based on your child’s progress and interests.
Ongoing Oversight from a BCBA
Your child’s BCBA plays a critical role in overseeing their therapy. The BCBA will regularly review session data, attend therapy sessions, and adjust the program as needed to ensure progress. In addition, the BCBA will hold regular meetings with you to discuss updates and changes to the plan, providing insights on your child’s development.
